We believe that everyone has a tale to tell – from little children with imaginary friends to kindly old folks with a lifetime of memories to share. We tell stories all the time! Sometimes to get us out of trouble, other times to convey an important idea. Stories are an integral part of our social fabric yet there isn’t really a social platform that supports this life skill in the way that we had in mind. That’s why three fathers got together to launch STORYNATION.
So, what is Storynation about?
STORYNATION is a community platform for parents to learn the art of storytelling, be part of a co-creation environment, and to practice their craft in a professionally facilitated environment.
You decide the pace and level engagement that fits your schedule and needs. Our goal is to help you connect with the most important audience of all – your children. Perhaps, they too might grow up and be more eloquent than the kids of the current generation.
15th September 2017, 4pm - 7pm
Bedok Court, Bedok South Ave 3, Event Hall
This is Storynation's very first get-together and storytelling workshop for public. We ran three prior sessions for close friends and a selected group in the blogging community and have received positive reviews, so we are confident you will enjoy this session too.
How To Be A Superstar In Your Child's Eyes is suitable for parents with little or no experience in storytelling. Roger will be covering basic techniques that you could use immediately to make your stories "pop".
Some of the modules covered are:
- Story-telling, not story-reading
- Choose your own adventure (basic improvisation)
- Pauses are useful for dramatic effect
- When you're stuck, ask questions
We are keeping the numbers small and cosy so that each participant can get quality time to practice and ask questions.
Storynation is a community driven initiative, so be prepared to mingle and interact with us. Workshop will be conducted in a round-table fashion where every participant will get a chance to experiment and discover new ideas about themselves.
Actual Event Timing is 4pm - 6pm. We reserved the last hour for those who wants to stay back to ask questions.

If you are attending with your little one(s), we recommend that their minimum age be at least 3 years old otherwise we would be grateful if another parent/guardian comes along to look after your little one(s).
